* Our Uniform

The Scholars' uniform identifies and unites our students. Students should be proud to proclaim their decision to get a good education. As such, the uniform must be worn with respect and dignity. All students are required to have a full day uniform, a dress uniform and a gym uniform.

The Scholars' Hall uniform has not changed. Rather than having three suppliers, the Scholars' uniform is now to be purchased from one source - R.J. McCarthy. You can order on line or you can go to their outlet store located near the Police station on Maple Grove Rd.
It is highly recommended that parents order and pick-up well before the end of August (McCarthys tell us that the line-ups and wait time in the last two weeks of August could be up to 3 hours long - avoid the last minute rush - do it now).
McCarthys has many new additions to the Scholars' uniform but make sure you get what is complusary. Students will continue to wear present uniform items that continue to fit and are presentable.

In order to eliminate our inventory at the school, we are having a uniform sale. All tops are $10 and all bottoms are $20 - first come basis.  See Current Events page for sizes available.

The Scholars’ Hall Day uniform basically consists only of crested hunter green shirts; khaki pants, shorts or skirt. All students from JK to grade 10 must have a complete gym uniform, as well as any student taking Physical Education.

The Scholars’ Hall Dress uniform consists only of . . .

for Lower School students (Grades JK to 2) - crested power blue oxford shirt (short or long sleeve); a school tartan clip on tie and the khaki day pants.

for Middle School students (Grades 3 to 6) - crested power blue oxford shirt (short or long sleeve); a school tartan regular tie; grey dress pants or school tartan skort.

for Upper School (Grades 7 to 12) -
crested power blue oxford shirt (short or long sleeve); a school tartan regular tie; grey dress pants or school tartan skort; and navy crested blazer (present black blazer continues to be accepted).

Socks/tights must be one of colours from the school tartan.

The first day of school, every year will be a dress uniform day for all returning students from the previous year.

The day uniform and the dress uniform clothing have been clearly indicated by Scholars’ Hall. No other items of clothing are part of the uniform (because it is beige or green does not make it part of the uniform).

Students are to arrive in full day or dress uniform, as directed by Scholars’ Hall, and leave in full uniform. Changing is permitted during the day for physical education and house league only.

Tops and bottoms must be clean and in good repair and must be worn according to school’s instructions.

Students who show up at school not in proper uniform for that day, as directed by Scholars’ Hall, will not be permitted to attend classes until the proper uniform has been brought from home or is otherwise acquired (it’s in the wash, or it’s too small, or it’s lost, or I forgot, or no one informed me, etc. will not excuse a student from being in proper uniform of the day).

Shirts must be appropiately worn and/or tucked in and pants must be worn at the waist with a belt if necessary (over sized pants are not permitted).

Pants and skirts must be worn at appropriate height and length – pants must be cuffed/hemmed.

Shoes which leave black marks are NOT allowed in the school.

Proper gym uniforms must be worn in all phys-ed classes. If a gym uniform is not worn, the student will be required to complete and hand in an academic assignment completed during the gym time and will be recorded as absent from gym class for grading purposes. Alternatively, if available, the student may borrow a proper gym uniform from the “Lost & Found” or one that is provided by the school from the clean/used uniforms donated by former students and attend gym class without any loss of attendance or grading.

Hats and/or head wear are not part of the school’s uniform nor are they permitted on a regular civies day.

Appropriateness of footwear, accessories, jewelry, piercings, tattoos, hair style and colour as well as appropriateness of civies day dress is determined by the school.
