foundation of family values and the ownership of a life long work ethic has been described by our graduates and their parents alike as somewhere between "worth every penny" and "Priceless".

What does the tuition include?
For Grades 1 to 12 the tuition includes the in-school, all day, delivery of all academic programs, which are part of our timetabled Ministry of Education curriculum including text books. Our P.H.D. Program for 4 and 5 year olds (JK and SK) and our Primary Program provides the option of a standard school year (Sept. to June) or full year schooling (12 months a year). The PHD Program includes free after school supervision till 5:29 pm.
How does a Scholars' tuition compare to the other private schools?
At the JK, SK and Primary grades of 1, 2 and 3, a Scholars' Hall's tuition is well below the cost to send a child to daycare. At the Junior, Intermediate and High School grades a Scholars' tuition continues to be more affordable than most other schools. In addition to being affordable, Scholars' Hall provides value added with a maximum of 15 students in a class while most other regional private or independent schools quote small ratios with class sizes in excess of twenty or more.
How does Scholars' Hall assist families who are commited to providing their children with the best education?
Begining in September of 2010, Scholars' Hall will help families financially in three ways. First, the tuition schedule of the year first registered will be used for each successive year of attendance. This means that a family will keep the same tuition schedule for as long as theiy have a child attending Scholars' Hall and will not experience any tuition schedule increases which normally occur as of February 1st of each year. Second, at the end of every month Scholars' Hall rewards students with "Scholars' Dollars" for meeting and exceeding expectations. These "Scholars' Dollars" can be used by the parents to pay for next year's tuition. Third, Scholars' Hall issues a child care tax receipt for 30% of the tuition for every child in grades one to twelve.
How may the tuition be paid?
Various methods of payment are permitted to suit personal circumstances. These methods include monthly, quarterly, standard, advanced or early. Advanced and early payment of tuition results in a reduction of total fees.
Are there any additional fees?
Scholars' Hall gives every student a daily journal and the loan of all text books. Each week and at the end of most months all students are required to participate in the cultural, athletic, social and academic clubs and activities for which some small costs may apply. Attendance during July and/or August, after school supervision and attendance during Christmas and March breaks are available at additional fess. Certain Courses of Study, (frequently at the Grade 7 to 10 leves) require materials, workbooks etc. for personal consumption. Parents will be informed of the cost if such materials are required. The day and dress uniforms are an additional cost (approximately $200 - $400 yearly). Scholars' has a daily hot lunch program at an approximate daily cost of $4.00. Transportation is the responsibility of each family. During the year there are several school productions and the year-end camping trip. Costs usually range from $5 to $25 per person with family rates of approx. $75.
Is there any fundraising?
At most private or independent schools, in addition to paying the tuition, fundraising by parents, to meet the school’s annual financial operational responsibilities, is expected and even required. Scholars' Hall does not require or even expect its parents to be responsible for any part of the school's annual financial operation. From time to time, however, the Scholars' Parent Advisory Council may take on a special or unique project that would enhance and increase the overall benefit of the total school community.
At Scholars' Hall students are encouraged to participate in our various fund raising drives, such as, the Waterloo Region Food Bank; Terry Fox Run; the Christmas Child; Jump Rope for Heart, and the MS Readathon. Parents of Scholars' students have generously assisted the bursary program at SH which permits deserving students, who might other wise not be able to attend, benefit from a Scholars' education.
